Game Summary

It’s been four months since arriving at Gomorrha. Four months of pain, of cruelty, of watching my innocent family murdered. Little did I know the picturesque urban life is lined by a dark underground, a past for which I dreamed to leave behind. No longer. My past has filtered through the syndicate channels. They know who I am. The Gangs wish me pain. Pain they delivered. Pain I now shall deliver them. The city once their’s shall soon be mine. They took the people I love, I’ll take the life they know.

Gang Land is a turn based strategy game, set within the city Gomorrha. You have just decided to establish a crime syndicate to drive out all the rival gangs within the city as a vendetta you swore to see through. The city Gomorrha is divided into suburbs and sectors. Each suburb is made up of connecting sectors. The idea of the game is to take control of all sectors within the city through a number of means.

Each gang, including yours, has one Gang Lord. This special unit needs to be protected at all costs. If a gang lord is killed the respective gang is dissolved with all sectors controlled by them becoming neutral.

The means by which you dominate the city is through your thugs, called gangsters. Their role is to generate Manticorian Credits (money) through the extortion of local businesses, and attack rival gangs. With the revenue generated by your gangsters you are able to recruit more gang members which allow you to setup more bases within more sectors and hence generate more credits and in turn eventually dominate the city.

During a turn a gangster can perform one of several tasks:

  1. Move to another sector
  2. Extort Local businesses within current sector.
  3. Attack rival gang members within current sector.
  4. Create a base within current sector.

These task let the player strategically dominate the city.

A city sector in Gang Land can either be neutral, controlled by a rival gang or controlled by you. Each sector is divided into cells which the player can move his gangsters between; these cells may contain a building or be empty. The buildings within a sector can be used to create a new base per sector, or extorted to generate more credit.
